A list headed by the current mayor of Castelo Branco, Leopoldo Rodrigues, is the only candidate for the Municipal Political Commission of the PS in the elections this Friday.
“PS is a historic festival in the municipality and in the district of Castelo Branco. We have had good results over the years and we want to continue with this work and be attentive to the reality of the municipality and the new political dynamics,” Leopoldo Rodrigues told the Lusa agency.
The socialist mayor has highlighted that the list presented by suffrage it is unique and includes several historical personalities from the local PS and is also committed to youthincluding two young people who are part of the Socialist Youth (JS) in the workforce.
“The list is ordered according to the seniority of the socialist militants that make it up, whether they are men or women,” the candidate stressed.
Leopoldo Rodrigues stressed that it is fundamental “promote a close relationship with socialist militants”. “I want the PS to speak with one voice, but all voices are considered. The PS is a party of plurality of ideas and opinions”, he maintained.
The mayor who currently presides over the Chamber of Castelo Branco is 57 years old and has a degree in History. He will replace Arnaldo Brás, a local PS veteran who, despite being invited to be part of this unique list, rejected that invitation.
The elections for the municipality of Castelo Branco of the PS take place this Friday between 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
