Melo: “We appeal to Marcelo to call elections”

Nuno Melo was the first to ask for the dissolution of Parliament. The CDS leader understands that the Government is already “managing itself and the cases it has” and believes that a shorter political cycle “was advantageous for the country” and that “the CDS is ready to go to elections at any time.” .

In an interview with Observer, on the “O Sofá do Congresso” program, Melo, who joined the party after leaving the Assembly of the Republic, guarantees that the CDS “was not replaced by any other” and that “there is a gap” between the PSD and the rest of the parties of the right. “Portugal and democracy need the CDS”, he argues.

After a year of “putting the house in order”, Nuno Melo invited António Lobo Xavier and Miguel Morais Leitão to update the party schedule and “refound” the CDS with new messages and for new audiences.
