Veteran Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo has indicated he will continue with Manchester United next season, following rumors about his departure from the team due to not qualifying for the Champions League.
Doubts are swirling about Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at Manchester United, after the ‘Red Devils’ team failed to occupy one of the top four spots in the English Premier League ‘Premier League’ qualifying for the League of European Soccer Champions.
Several press reports have emerged confirming that the Portuguese star has decided to leave Old Trafford, as the all-time top scorer in the continental championship, the “Champions League”, and cannot spend next season without participating in the Champions League.
Reports also say Ronaldo is unhappy with the appointment of Dutchman Eric Ten Hag as manager of Manchester United, starting next season.
However, Ronaldo said on Manchester United’s official website: “I know (Ten Hag) has done a great job at Ajax, he is an experienced manager and we need to give him time.”
He added: “Things have to change the way he wants, and if he does it right, Manchester United will be successful, and for that I want him well.”
“We are very happy and excited about his arrival, not only as players but also as fans, and we must believe in our ability to win titles next season,” added Cristiano Ronaldo.
Erik Ten Hag, 52, ended his career at Ajax Amsterdam by winning the Dutch league title in the middle of the week, and should take over the Manchester United team from German caretaker manager Ralph Rangnick after the last game of this season against Crystal Palace next Sunday.
It should be noted that Cristiano Ronaldo, 37, scored 18 goals using the ‘Red Devils’ shirt after returning to ‘Old Trafford’ from Juventus in the summer of 2021.
