Tunisian tennis player Ons Jaber confirmed that she is fully prepared mentally and physically to participate in the Roland Garros tennis tournament on clay courts in Paris, stressing that she is aiming for the title.
Jaber, who won the tournament in Madrid earlier this month and played in the final of the tournament in Rome against the first racket of the world from Poland, Igi Swiatek, made statements at a press conference on the eve of the start of the competition, i.е. among the Grand Slam tournaments.
Jaber, who was ranked sixth in the world, indicated that she “plays not only for herself, but for the whole of Tunisia.”
She added: “It is strange to have the enthusiasm of Tunisians at home and abroad. They inspire me, like the Tunisian football team. It would be great to win my first big tournament title here in Paris. where many Tunisians and Arabs live.
Jaber confirmed that she will not agree to leave the competition in the first week as she is determined to overcome her competitions one by one until she rises to the highest level, hoping to reach the final round for the first time in her career.
And she revealed that she set three main goals for herself at the start of the current season, which are to be in the top five in the world rankings of professional players, win more trophies and win a major tournament (Grand Slam) title.
The Grand Slam consists of four major tournaments: the Australian Open (in Melbourne) at the beginning of the year, Roland Garros in Paris from May to June, Wimbledon (in London) from late June to early July, and the US Open. Flash Meadows (in New York) from late August to early September.
