Despite dropping the anthem before Wednesday’s Giants game, Kapler posted a 729-word blog post on Friday, explaining how he wanted to “get in” instead, “cold” and “felt like a coward” instead.

Kapler’s decision to skip the national anthem came after the New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays skipped the last game’s social media coverage to release statistics on gun violence in the United States.
