Australia coach Graham Arnold has suffered a painful blow following midfielder Tom Rogic’s sudden decision not to join the team’s camp days before meeting the UAE on this 7th of this month in the 2022 Asian play-offs for the 2022 World Cup.

And the Australian Football Association said in a statement that Rogic informed the technical staff of the decision to withdraw from the team ahead of the match against the Emirates for personal reasons.

He added that no other player would be called to the camp currently being held in Doha.

Notably, Rogic was left without a club after announcing the end of his nine-year deal with Celtic a few days ago after winning the Scottish Premier League last May.

For his part, the Australian coach called the player’s decision a bad one, but at the same time emphasized his confidence that the rest of the players in the squad will achieve something special for Australia over the next two weeks.
