Former US Olympic gymnasts Simone Biles, Ali Raisman and McKayla Moroney have filed a billion-dollar lawsuit against the FBI for wrongfully addressing sexual assault allegations against former US gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar.
During Nassar’s trial, it was revealed that the FBI had been aware of sexual harassment allegations since at least 2015. The Bureau did nothing about it, however, leaving Nassar free to continue harassing the girls for several years.
Today, a group of gymnasts is filing a lawsuit against the Bureau on Wednesday. reported.
“It’s time to hold the FBI accountable,” said Oklahoma national gymnastics champion Maggie Nichols.
The FBI has six months to respond to the case, but more cases may follow after the agency’s response.
Nearly 90 former gymnasts participated in the costume, led by gold medalists Simone Biles, Ali Raisman, and MacKayla Maroney.
“I and my survivors have been betrayed by all the institutions that are supposed to protect us – the US Olympic Committee, the US Gymnastics, the FBI and now the Justice Department. “It’s clear that the only way to justice and recovery is through a lawsuit,” MacKayla Maroney said in a statement.
A Michigan sports physician, who is also the USA Gymnastics Chief, was convicted of child pornography in December 2017 and sentenced to 60 years in prison. – one year in prison.
But despite so much evidence, in May Biden’s Justice Department refused to prosecute the FBI agents responsible for blinding Nassar’s abuses.
“Had the FBI done its job, Nassar would have been stopped before he had a chance to rape hundreds of girls, including me,” added University of Michigan gymnast Samantha Roy.

One of the two agents accused of failing in the case, Michael Langeman, was fired, while the other, Jay Abbott, was allowed to retire.
