The International Football Association (FIFA) has already resolved the controversy surrounding the latest issues related to participation in the final round of the World Cup, which will be held in Qatar from November 21 to December 18, 2022.
FIFA said in an official statement on Friday that Ecuador would play in the 2022 World Cup, after denying accusations from Chile that it pushed for an ineligible player to participate in the qualifiers.
“After reviewing the position of all parties involved and considering all documents, the FIFA Disciplinary Committee has decided to terminate all proceedings initiated against the Ecuadorian Football Federation,” the FIFA statement said.
FIFA has received two previous complaints to the same effect, from the Egyptian and Algerian football federations, against Senegal and Cameroon, respectively.
FIFA has rejected complaints from Egypt and Algeria, and also approved the classification of “Teranga” and the “Indomitable Lions” for the World Cup in Qatar.
Ecuador and Senegal are competing in the World Cup in Group A along with Qatar and the Netherlands.
On the other hand, the draw for the Qatar World Cup put Cameroon in Group G along with Brazil, Serbia and Switzerland.
