Amazing radio host Howard Stern has criticized golfer Phil Mickelson and others for participating in the Saudi-sponsored LIV tour.
Mickelson reportedly joined the LIV Tour for $200 million and was subsequently suspended from the PGA Tour for his participation. Howard Stern said Mickelson and other golfers were corrupt.
“They’re for sale,” Stern said on the SiriusXM show.
Stern has described the Saudi Arabian government as “real pieces of shit” as it mainly uses its vast fortunes to appear on the world stage.
“They have real pieces of shit and a lot of money, so they’re allowed to be the first piece on a large scale,” Stern said. “Usually you don’t hear anything from these people if they don’t have oil there, you don’t know what they believe, they talk to sheep and camels.”
But unfortunately, they have so much money that they can spread their sick brains to the whole world, and they want to organize a golf tournament, not a tournament, not a league,” he said.
Top LIV players often nod when asked about their stance on human rights abuses in Saudi Arabia. “I do not condone human rights violations. I don’t know how I could be any clearer,” Mickelson said when asked for example.

Prominent golfer Dustin Johnson initially said he would not attend the event, but his manager said he eventually decided it was “in his and his family’s best interests”.
Dustin has thought about this possibility from time to time over the past few years. “In the end, Johnson’s manager decided it was in his and his family’s interests. Dustin has never had a problem on the PGA Tour and was grateful for all he’s given him, but in the end he felt it was too compelling to deny it.”
When asked about the event during the PGA Championship, Johnson said, “I think golf is in good shape and I think what they’re doing is… it has the potential to be great for the game of golf. I can’t wait to see what happens here in a few weeks.”
Mickelson also referred to an open letter by the 9/11 United Families asking golfers not to attend the event as 15 of the 19 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia.
“I will tell everyone who lost loved ones and friends on 9/11 that I have deep sympathy for them,” Mickelson said. “I can’t stress that enough.”
LIV founder Greg Norman sparked controversy last month when he spoke about his relationship with Saudi Arabia, saying that the government-sanctioned assassination of Jamal Khashoggi was a simple mistake and not unlike many mistakes the US has made before.
