“Inclusive language is important, especially when it comes to periods,” Miss Universe said on Tuesday.
With the hashtag “Menstrual Equality,” Miss Universe said, “The notion that menstrual health is a women-only topic excludes menstruating transgender, bisexual, and gender-nonconforming men from the conversation.”

Miss Universe instructed the public, “How to talk about your cycle,” in one of her tweets, adding: “Say it: productive health. Not: women’s health. ”
“Say this: menstruating people. Not so: Menstruating women,” the instruction continues, before saying, “not all women menstruate, not all menstruating men are women.”
Meanwhile, biological men increasingly dominate kingdoms previously held by biological women.
