The responsible authorities of Paraguay, Argentina, Chile and Uruguay are preparing to reactivate their joint bid to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
Paraguayan Vice-President Hugo Velázquez, who chaired the meeting of representatives of the four countries, explained that the goal is “to revive our movement after the Corona epidemic and reaffirm the intention of the four governments to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup. .”
Velázquez announced that a working group would be formed that would set a timetable for measures to be taken to strengthen the joint cause.
Despite admitting that the four countries cannot compete economically with world powers, he stressed that “we want to make history and that the continent exports the best players in the world.”
In 2024, FIFA will announce the country or countries that will host the 2030 World Cup, knowing that the 2026 championship will be hosted by three countries: Canada, the United States and Mexico.
