The delegation of the Lebanese women’s basketball team (under 16) flew to the Jordanian capital Amman on Wednesday morning to participate in the Asian Championship (level “B”), which will be held at Prince Hamzah Hall from June 24-30.

The delegation included: Vice-President of the Federation Sami Nasser (chairman), Ziad Al-Natur (coach), Cristina Badu and Karim Yamut (assistant coach), Christian Mujber (physiotherapist), Rita Neme (physiotherapist), Richard El Hadj and Sergio . Kassab (international judges), Noor Labban, Jocelyn Jaara, Karen Hotate, Yasma Rizk, Eliza Khoury, Elsie Gantios, Megan Naasan, Kristina Annan, Nadine Ratil, Aline Abi Mosle, Mira Agha Hussein and Angelina Nani Badu (players).

There are eight countries participating in the “B” level tournament, which are divided into two groups as follows:

The first group: Indonesia, Syria, Samoa and the Philippines.

The second group: Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Jordan and Iran.

The team that takes first place in the tournament will qualify for the “A” level, knowing that the “B” level championship coincides with the establishment of the Asian Championship for the “A” level, which includes 8 countries and in Jordan as Well.

In the first round, Lebanon will play their first match against Kazakhstan at 20:15 on Friday 24th, against Iran at the same time on Saturday 25th and against Jordan at 18:00 on Sunday 26th.

It is noteworthy that the Lebanese women’s team qualified for Asian countries (level “A”) in November last year.
