Former NBA star Vince Carter’s family feared for their lives when a thief broke into their Atlanta home who robbed them while they slept.
Intruders reportedly broke into Carter’s home just before midnight on Father’s Day, June 19. .
According to the police report, Carter’s wife, Sondi, said she heard the suspects wandering around the house and rummaging through the family’s belongings. She woke up to loud noises and told the police that she had taken her two sons and hid them in the closet while she was calling 911.

The duty officer said he was the first to arrive at the scene and saw a masked man wearing black in a speeding SUV.
The report stated that the windshield of the house was broken. And nearly $16,000 in cash was found scattered across the floor of a gated community home.
Carter later told investigators that he had about $100,000 in cash in a paper bag in his locker, so the scammer likely earned more than $80,000.
Police found Carter’s Desert Eagle gun on the property, but they also found a Glock, which apparently belonged to one of the thieves.
The investigation is ongoing, but the police have yet to have a suspect or lead.
The eight-time All-Star and 1999 NBA rookie has spent his 22-year career on a long roster of teams including the Raptors, Nets, Kinds, and Atlanta Hawks. He retired in 2020.
