Ticket sales for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar begin today on a first-come, first-served basis until 16 August.
The International Football Association today announced the direct sale of the remaining tickets for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, confirming that 1.8 million tickets were sold in the 5 months leading up to the tournament.
Earlier in a press statement, FIFA said: “Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis to provide fans with another opportunity to secure their seats at the biggest football show in the world.”
And FIFA pointed out that the sale of 1.8 million tickets five months before the start of the tournament “could lead to the creation of reserve lists if demand increases and supply decreases.”
Citizens of several countries flocked to buy tickets at the last minute, led by Canada, England, France, Germany, India, Saudi Arabia, Spain, the United Arab Emirates and America after the host country.
The FIFA World Cup is due to start in November 2022 and this will be the first time that the most important football event in the world will take place in the Middle East.
