Men’s Asian Basketball Cup: Lebanon’s matches against the Philippines start next Wednesday

Having successfully completed its first task of qualifying for the Asian Basketball World Cup Qualifiers Group 3 after the end of the first round of three windows, the Lebanese men’s team will begin their matches in the 2022 Asian Cup, which will be held in Indonesia from July 12 to 24, playing their first match in Group D with his Filipino counterpart on Wednesday, July 13 at 4 pm Beirut time and he will face his New Zealand counterpart at 4 pm. hours on the afternoon of Friday, the 15th of this month, Beirut time, and will conclude their first round matches against India at seven o’clock Beirut time on the morning of Sunday, July 17th.

It is worth noting that there is a paradox that needs to be addressed, namely that Lebanon will face in the first round of the Asian Cup with the same teams, namely New Zealand, the Philippines and India, which it will face in the fourth, fifth and sixth window. in the second round of World Cup qualifiers, which should be stopped.

16 teams take part in the Asian Cup, divided into 4 groups as follows:
– Group 1: Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Australia (title holders in the last edition held in Lebanon in 2017) and Indonesia.
