China’s Wang Jian’an won gold in the long jump at the 18th World Championships in Athletics in Eugene, USA.

And Gianan achieved his last attempt by jumping 8.36m, depriving the Greek Miltiadis Tintoglu at all the Tokyo Olympics last summer of his first world title.

Tintoglu dominated the competition and was on his way to the yellow metal, reaching 8.30m on his second attempt, then 8.32m on his fifth attempt before being knocked down by Jianan.

Tintoglu received the same kick he landed at the Tokyo Olympics on Cubans Juan Miguel Echevarria and Michael Masso when he won the title when he reached 8.41m in his final attempt.

And the bronze was returned to the Swiss Simon Emer (8.16 m).

This is Jiangan’s second world championship after the bronze he won seven years ago in his country at the 2015 Beijing Championships when he was 18 years old.
