The Argentina national team is facing a hurdle ahead of the start of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar next November due to the possibility of one of the team’s stars missing from the tournament.

Argentina starts their 2022 World Cup matches against Saudi Arabia in a group that also includes Poland and Mexico.

Argentine federation president Claudio Tapia knows there are doubts about Atlético Madrid midfielder Rodrigo de Paul’s participation in the upcoming World Cup, according to the Argentine network TNT.

This was due to a lawsuit filed by DePaul’s ex-wife, Camille Hammes, and according to FIFA rules, any player who has problems with children will not allow him to enter the host country of the World Cup.

The case, brought by DePaul’s ex-wife, stems from his unwillingness to support his children.

Tapia concluded: “I know De Paul very well and his feelings for his children, I think this will work out in the best possible way.”
