The Lebanese men’s under-18 basketball team will take part in the West Asian Championship, which will be held in the Syrian capital Damascus from July 25 to 30, and will qualify for the Asian Championship, which will be held in Iran next month.

This includes the Lebanese Delegation, Maroun Jibrail (Chairman), Sharbel Al-Bash (Coach), George Khaled (Assistant Coach), Joe Nasir Zuyter (Physical Training), Razmik Bojikian (Physiotherapist), George Said (Statistician), Joseph Abu. Samra, Geo Abu Suleiman, Alex Alia, Mustafa Assaf, Abdel Hamid Beiruti, Karl Kazakh, Brian Mansour, Gad Nasr, Karim Salam, Abdel Rahman Sabbah, Alaa Sabbah and Carl Chris Zamata (players).
International Judge Rabah Najim will join the mission.

The tournament will be accompanied by the Secretary General of the West Asian Federation, lawyer Charbel Michel Rizk (General Secretary of the Lebanese Basketball Federation), who will chair the general technical meeting on the eve of the tournament.

There are four countries participating in the regional tournament, in addition to Lebanon, Iraq, Syria and Palestine. The Lebanese team starts their matches on Monday against Palestine at 5 pm Beirut time, and then meets their Syrian counterpart on Tuesday at 5 pm. ‘hours in the afternoon also to complete their first round matches against Iraq on Wednesday at the same time, with Thursday being a day off.’

In Friday’s program, the semi-finals will take place between the first and fourth places, as well as between the second and third, and the winners of the two semi-final matches will meet in the final match next Saturday.
