The Association of Police Professionals (ASPP/PSP) announced this Saturday that it will hold a public protest in the fourth stage of the Volta a Portugal in Viseu, questioning the current conditions of the profession.
The reason for this “public and visible protest” is due “to the structural precariousness that afflicts the Security Police: low wages, overtime, lack of attractiveness, breach of professional status, little capacity for rejuvenation, little dignity of the career and constant violations of our rights,” says the trade association in a statement released today.
The protest must take place on August 8, at 3:00 p.m., during the passage of the Volta to Portugal.
The fourth stage of this year’s edition of the Volta a Portugal links Guarda with Viseu, with a distance of 169.1 kilometres.
