Brazilian international winger David Neres missed Benfica’s training session on Monday, as he was “under treatment”, one day before facing Midtjylland, in the second leg of the third qualifying round of the Football Champions League.
The reinforcement “incarnate”, one of the new players, along with Enzo Fernández, who entered the starting “11”, was out of work session this Monday at the Seixal training center, as well as central defenders Lucas Veríssimo and João Victor.
The two defenders are still recovering from injuries, unlike João Mário, who, after being physically injured in his debut in the I League, in Friday’s victory against Arouca (4-0), has already joined this Monday the jobs.
At a press conference, German coach Roger Schmidt revealed that João Mário “is much better” than on Friday or Saturday, but did not guarantee that the midfielder would be an option for the second leg of the “Champions”.
Let’s see today, if you don’t have any complaints, you can travel, there’s still a chance to play, we’re not 100% sure. But we have to wait until the end of training, how do you feel tomorrow? [terça-feira]”, explained the “incarnated” coach in relation to João Mário.
Roger Schmidt guarantees Benfica attack in Denmark despite the advantage
On Tuesday, Benfica will face Midtjylland, at Randers (18:45), in the second leg of the third qualifying round of the Champions League, with a 4-1 advantage over Luz, in a match that will be refereed by Serbian Srdjan Jovanovic.
