Saudi reports have confirmed that the Sports Arbitration Center has accepted international player Fahd Al Mawlid’s appeal of an 18-month ban for his use of banned sports stimulants, which narrowly prevented him from taking part in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
According to Al-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper, Fahd Al-Maouled has renewed hopes that he will again represent his Al-Ittihad team, as well as the possibility of being selected in the Saudi Arabian team for the World Cup after the decision of the Saudi Arabian Sports Arbitration Center to commute the sentence handed down by the Saudi Anti-Doping Control Board and be satisfied with the duration and eligibility of the latter punishment. She added that Al-Ittihad had begun negotiations with the player to extend his contract, which expired last June, amid several offers the player had received, including that he become a free player.
