There is no doubt that exercise of all kinds is necessary and important for maintaining fitness and overall health, but some people get injured during exercise and it can take weeks or months for those injuries to recover.

According to a study conducted in the United States of America, more than half of those who run every day experience some form of injury from time to time.

That’s why Dr. Brian Werner advises people who are prone to injury or those over 40 to avoid extreme sports such as basketball, football, tennis, or any other sport that requires constant movement and sudden changes in direction.

Instead, the doctor advises focusing on sports such as walking, swimming, and yoga, as they are gentle on the joints and do not burden the body like the previously mentioned sports.

In turn, NYU doctor Steven Stroll emphasizes the importance of working on strengthening the middle part of the body during exercise, as this is of great benefit in improving the balance of a person, which clearly reduces injuries, according to what many studies have previously shown.
