After a long career in Lebanese stadiums, Tripoli captain Ahmed Maghrebi has decided in recent weeks to put an end to his football career by devoting himself to his academy, which trains young players.

In an interview with the e-newspaper Al Sport, Maghrebi revealed that other reasons related to the current situation of the Tripoli club also prompted him to make this decision at this time before the start of the 2022-2023 season, knowing that Tripoli is playing in the first division.

Magrabi felt that the current situation in the team was unstable, which led him to decide to retire from football as a player.

Maghrebi spoke about his most prominent stations in his career, highlighting that he won the Lebanese Cup title in 2015 at the Sidon Municipal Stadium and then took part in the AFC Cup for the first time in the club’s history.

Regarding his worst stations, Maghrebi said: “Honestly, the last two years have been the worst for me in my football career because of the general situation in Lebanese football as well as the general situation in the country.

On evaluating his career: “I can’t evaluate my career, but the fans have the right to evaluate. Dreams? Yes, I made some dreams come true representing Tripoli, my city, winning the Lebanese Cup while playing for the Nejmeh club. , and professionally in Oman even for one year, I think it’s that I’m happy with her and proud of her and she was the most beautiful in my career.”

On the future of the Tripoli club: “The situation is difficult, there is no project for the future, this reality does not bode well. This city deserves a team that gets the support it needs to always be in the positions it deserves. We cannot remain in the unknown every season.” and we hope that this club will receive the necessary support from President Najib Mikati.
