Alpha Tauri’s Yuki Tsunoda was penalized with a 13-place delay at the start of the Italian Formula 1 Grand Prix at Monza the following Sunday due to several infractions.

Tsunoda received his fifth warning of the season at the Dutch Grand Prix in the last round of the championship for running his car on the track without a seat belt.

Previous offenses in Australia, Bahrain and Monaco included driving too slowly for no reason and then obstructing other drivers.

In the last race in the Netherlands, a Japanese driver pulled to the side of the track on lap 44 of 72 when he complained that his tires had not been installed after a maintenance stop and unbuckled his seat belt, believing he would get out of the car.

But his team told him everything was fine and left without insurance.

Formula One rules provide for a start delay penalty for any driver who receives five warnings in a single season, with at least four of those warnings related to driving reasons.

Tsunoda has received a new penalty that will leave him three more places behind after failing to slow down after raising the yellow flag during his second free practice at Monza on Friday.

It was also decided to punish him by deducting two points from his balance, bringing the total points deducted from his balance over the past 12 months to eight points. Drivers who have 12 points deducted during the year are prohibited from participating in races.
