Yahya El-Kumi, head of the Egyptian Ismaili club, has announced the departure of Portugal’s Helder Cristovao from the team for the new season after introducing him to the media just two hours later.
In his statements, El-Kumi indicated that they terminated the contract with the Portuguese coach, criticizing the fans for his presence at the head of the Dervishes’ technical management in the new season.
He added that a number of resumes from other coaches would be considered.
At the end of his statements, El-Kumi confirmed that he apologized to the coach for continuing with them and asked for an amicable termination of the contract.
Notably, Cristovau has previously coached several clubs in Portugal, most notably Benfica, Estoril Praia and Portimonense, as well as Al Nasr, Al Ettifak and Al Hazm in the Saudi Arabian League. .
His most recent experience with the Al Hazm team was the 2021 season in which he made 13 appearances, winning two matches, drawing 5 and losing 6 matches.
