Real Sociedad have announced that their newest striker, Nigerian striker Omar Sadiq, has torn his internal cruciate ligament in his knee after undergoing a medical examination.

And Real Sociedad tweeted through their official Twitter account that Omar Sadiq, their newest signing from Almería, has suffered a cruciate ligament injury and is expected to be out of stadiums for several months.

Omar Sadik moved from Almeria to Real Sociedad in the final minutes of the summer Mercato for around 20 million euros to make up for the departure of Swede Alexander Isaac to English club Newcastle.

Notably, Omar Sadiq scored his first goal in a Real Sociedad shirt against Atlético Madrid in a 1-1 draw and then suffered a knee injury during the last league match against Getafe, in which his team lost 1 – 2.

Sadiq was named to Nigeria’s squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, appearing in all matches and scoring one goal against Guinea-Bissau in the group stage.
