Kansas Democratic Governor Laura Kelly quickly turned to biological denial after receiving backlash for running an ad that said, “Men should definitely not play women’s sports.”
Kelly has been criticized on both sides of the political aisle for her ads – leftists thought she wasn’t faithful enough to her gender-ideological religion, while Republicans accused her of trying to “cut both sides”. Kelly’s GOP competitor, Derek Schmidt, pointed out that Kelly’s claims in the ad contradicted the fact that he vetoed not once, but twice, the law protecting women and girls.
FALSE!
Liberal Laura Kelly says “of course” men shouldn’t be playing women’s sports in a desperate new ad.
But she vetoed Justice in Women’s Sports TWICE.
He’s been here with Biden for years and now he’s been lying in the re-election.

The vulnerable officer admitted in an interview kansas city stareditorial board, where he quickly “clarified” that he truly believed men should be able to play on women’s sports teams.
According to the report:
[Kelly] Giving the example of a 16-year-old high school student, she denied that her ads specifically targeted transgender student athletes. Instead, she said her ad was about a “man over 18” who wanted to compete with women, implying that her comments were all about age, not just gender identity. “The ad I posted was in response to my competitor’s slanderous attack, where I favored allowing men to allow women to play sports,” Kelly said. “I didn’t say that.
Kelly doubled his bet and said, “The bills [she] vetoes are discriminatory.”
“They are also designed by politicians. If he was from the Kansas High School Activities Association, the governing body for sports in our schools, I would have reacted differently,” he continued.
In response, Schmidt pledged to sign the Women’s Sports Justice Act within the first 100 days of her term if elected governor.
I can safely say that biological men should not share locker rooms with female athletes or compete in women’s sports.
Kansas Legislature: Send the Women’s Sports Justice Act to my desk in my first 100 days in office. Unlike Governor Kelly, I’ll sign! pic.twitter.com/PqaH9aCFwK

She was wrong to oppose the Women’s Sports Justice Act and mislead Kansas about her true position with television commercials. My position is clear – female athletes in women’s and women’s sports should not compete with biological males.

Schmidt wrote:
At least now the government is honest. Kelly speaks to her friends on the Kansas City Star’s editorial board about her stance on the matter, but she needs to tell the truth to Kansas voters. She was wrong to oppose the Women’s Sports Justice Act and mislead Kansas with television commercials about her true position, she. My position is clear – female athletes in women’s and women’s sports should not compete with biological males.
The Republican Association of Governors also criticized Kelly for developing two opposing viewpoints over the days.
“Democrat Laura Kelly believes that biologically born athletes should share locker rooms and be able to compete with girls and women in sports, which doesn’t resonate with nearly two-thirds of Americans,” said RGA spokesperson Joanna Rodriguez. “Kelly looked into the television camera and lied to Kansas and she has no regrets because she was willing to do anything to give radical activists a chance to influence Kansas schools.”
