Tripoli coach Fadi Ayad commented on his team’s 2-0 loss to Hekma on Saturday in the fourth round of the Lebanese Football League during a match organized by the Rashid Karami Municipal Stadium in Tripoli.

Speaking to electronic newspaper Al-Sport, Ayad said: “The element of the foreign player played a key factor in the superiority of wisdom over us, which we lack in Tripoli compared to the rest of the teams this season.”

He added: “The players paid tribute, but the small details played into the hands of wisdom. The first goal was an individual error and the second was a penalty, and these things happen in football.”

Ayad concluded: “Today we were unlucky, a draw would have been fair to us, but we hope that our players will be physically and mentally better in the rest of the stages.”

In turn, Tripoli defender Mohamed Karhani said: “It is true that we lost, but the team played well and we did not perform like in the last match of Al-Ansar, in which we suffered a heavy defeat. we will be working with the technical staff to resolve this dilemma in upcoming matches.”

Al-Hikma Club reportedly apologized for the statement.
