A weekend to breathe, a weekend where there is no margin for error either. The Primeira Liga teams met their rivals on Tuesday in the third round of the Portuguese Cup, with the condition of knowing that they will not find top-level rivals but that they will also make their debut in the competition as visitors. And if it is true that this is a time to encourage rotations in the team, the calendar in this case gave the “big ones” a break.
The matches are scheduled for the weekend of October 15 and 16, after a Champions League matchday (the fourth, with PSG-Benfica, Bayer Leverkusen-FC Porto and Sporting-Marseille, as well as Saint Gilloise-Sp. Braga in the Europa League) but there are no games after midweek. Then on the 21st there is a classic between FC Porto and Benfica, Sporting-Casa Pia was played the next day. Until the beginning of November, there are two more days left in the group stage of the Champions League and one more day in La Liga.
