Two senior U.S. military intelligence officials said today that the Pentagon intends to establish the origin of what the government calls “unidentified aerial phenomena” in the first public hearing in Congress in more than 50 years on the phenomenon known as unidentified flying objects ( UFOs).

Officials Ronald Moultrie and Scott Bray appeared before the U.S. House of Representatives Intelligence Subcommittee 11 months after the release of a report documenting more than 140 “unidentified weather events” (UWPs) reported by U.S. military pilots that seen since 2004..

Bray, deputy director of naval intelligence, admitted that there were some findings that were “inexplicable by U.S. officials.”

But Bray added: “There are some cases where we have more data and our analysis just doesn’t get the full picture of what happened.” These include “flight performance” and unexpected “movement patterns,” he said.

“As for the materials we have, we don’t have them, and we haven’t seen any emissions from these objects that would indicate something of extraterrestrial origin,” Bray added.

The term “UFO”, which refers to an unknown flying object, is widely associated with the concept of extraterrestrial spacecraft.

“We know that our soldiers have experienced unspecified weather events, and because they pose a potential threat to air safety and public safety, we are committed to a focused effort to identify their property, ”said the Deputy Director of Naval Intelligence.

Bray submitted two videos of “unspecified weather events” to the Commission. One showed flashing triangular objects in the night sky, which were later identified as optical artifacts of light passing through night vision goggles. Another showed a shiny spherical object passing through the cockpit window of a military aircraft.

In the second, Bray said, “I have no explanation what this thing is.”

Moultrie and Bray also said the Pentagon is determined to remove the stigma long associated with unexplained UFO sightings by encouraging pilots to notify their constituents when they see such phenomena.

The report also includes some UFO video footage previously released by the Pentagon showing speed and usability higher than known flight technologies and without any visible engine or flight control surfaces.

This report is a nine-page “preliminary assessment” compiled by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and a Navy-led task force created by the Pentagon in 2020.

Subcommittee Chairman Andre Carson said it was important for the Pentagon to take the issue of “unspecified weather events” seriously.

“That’s right, meteorological phenomena are not understood,” Carson said. But this is true, “raising concerns that Pentagon officials in the past have focused on issues that are relatively easy to explain,“ avoiding the unexplained. ”

Moultrie and Bray must testify behind closed doors after public hearings.

The report and today’s meeting represent a turning point for the U.S. government after decades of disruption, exposure, and discrediting of UFO and UFO sightings since the 1940s.

There has been no public congressional hearing on this issue since the U.S. Air Force shut down the shaky UFO program, dubbed Project Blue Book, in 1969.
