Dutch company Lightyear recently introduced a unique electric vehicle that can run entirely on solar energy.

Company experts noted that the work on developing the Lightyear 0 took almost 6 years, and the car is now available for order and will be officially launched in the autumn of this year at a price of 250 thousand euros.

The designers of this car succeeded in integrating 5 square meters of solar panels into its exterior elements, allowing the car’s batteries to be charged to run a distance of approximately 70 kilometers each. day. Although it can travel another 35 km, fully charging the battery will allow the car to travel 520 km.

This car’s door handles, which have a very aerodynamic body to reduce air resistance and save energy, are designed to hide inside the chassis and come out when needed, and the car’s side mirrors have been replaced with cameras. The driver is shown on both sides of the road through screens inside the cab.

The new car, which can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in about 10 seconds and reach speeds of 160 km / h, is equipped with the latest cabin technologies, while the driver interface works on a 10.1 -inch advanced touch screen and Android Automotive system.
