The wheel bolts that hold the tire to the wheel hub it can become loose and cause the loss of one or more wheels. in two of the most recent trams on the market, so new that none of them have yet started their delivery period to Portuguese customers. The models in question are the Subaru Solterra and the Toyota bZ4Xboth produced by Toyota, in one of its factories in Japan.
Usually, it is the North American Highway Safety Authority (NHTSA) that reacts most quickly to reliability or safety issues related to models sold in the US, but this time Toyota itself anticipatedaccording to Reuters, announcing the memory 5,300 vehicles, between the Solterra and the bZ4X. The call for workshops was announced in the US, while in Japan the same manufacturer presented the memory to the Minister of Transport. In Europe, unfortunately, there is still no body that streamlines this type of calls for workshops.
Currently Subaru does not have representation in our country and Toyota has not yet started deliveries of the new bZ4X, so there are no domestic customers in possession of units equipped with defective studs or bushings. According to the builders, the vast majority of vehicles have not yet reached customerswhile on the way to the stands or waiting for the documentation to be processed.
Of the 5,300 units, 2700 are Toyota bZ4X. Among these, 110 stayed in Japan, while 260 traveled to the US and 20 to Canada, and a hundred will be distributed to smaller markets. The largest number of bZ4X was exported to Europe, around 2,200as this is the market that most needs the contribution of electric vehicles so that the manufacturer respects the CO emission limitstwo. Subaru has distributed 2,600 Solterra units, almost exclusively in the US, and these models have also already been the subject of a memory.
Although few units are in the possession of customers, especially Toyota, this manufacturer posted an apology on its Japanese website, assuring that it will investigate what happened to find out what went wrong and where the defect is. He also assured that he will repair the vehicles as soon as possible, so that they can finally be delivered to their owners, but without any problem. Until then, Subaru and Toyota warn that the streetcars in question are not being used and are keeping them immobile until they are repaired.
