The Angolan government, which is also a partner in the mine, hailed the “historic” discovery of a type IIa diamond, one of the rarest and purest forms of natural stones, representing only 1-2% (1.8 percent ) of natural diamonds. precious stones).
“This record and the stunning pink diamond from Lulu continue to highlight Angola as a major player on the world stage,” said Diamantino Azevedo, Minister of Mineral Resources of Angola.
The diamond is likely to be offered at international auctions at very high prices.
Although the Lulo Rose needs to be cut and polished to realize its true value, it will not lose any of its value as similar pink diamonds are sold at record prices in a process where you can see the gemstone is losing 50% of its weight.
