The Foundation for Science and Technology awarded more than 400 employment contracts to PhD researchers in all scientific areas, with an investment of more than 120 million euros, within the framework of the Individual Contest to Stimulate Scientific Employment.
The provisional results of the V edition of the Individual Stimulus to Scientific Employment Contest (CEEC) were announced this Monday by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).
In the set of five editions, a total of 1,900 contracts for doctoral researchers.
In the 2022 edition, 2,890 applications were evaluated, and the number of candidates who obtained a grade equal to or greater than 8, on a scale of 1 to 10, was 1,458, the FCT explained in a statement.
The 400 researchers selected are divided into four contractual categories: 208 contracts for junior researchers, 153 assistant researchers, 38 main researchers and one coordinating researcher.
Women represent 58.8% of the selected candidates and researchers of foreign nationality 24% of the total, which represents a decrease of 7.5% compared to the previous call”, says the FCT.
The most representative countries are: Spain (22 researchers), Italy (21) and Brazil (13), he adds.
Once the results are published, the pre-hearing period begins, during which unsuccessful candidates can object to their evaluation.
The work contracts must be signed between the researchers and the host institutions within 90 days of the signing of the program contracts, between them and the FCT, you can read.
The CEEC Individual is one of the financing instruments for the hiring of researchers defined by the Scientific Employment Regulations launched in 2017 by the FCT, and has been held annually since 2018.
