The head of the Brahmos Aerospace Department, Atul Dinkar Rani, has announced that there will be no problem in the production of “Brahmos” cruise missiles in the next 15 years.
In an interview with the Russian TASS news agency, Atul Dinkar Rani draws attention to the fact that Western sanctions do not affect the work and production of the joint Russian-Indian project “Brahmos Aerospace”.
“The sanctions against Russia have not affected us. So we are not facing any difficulties. But as we know, there are some obstacles that prevent us from speeding up. But we succeeded in all this,” he said.
“When the West imposed sanctions on Russia when it imposed restrictions on dollar payments, we solved this problem before it was imposed. Because remember, remember, the USA and the West imposed sanctions on Russia a long time ago. The accession of Crimea. Brahmos coped with all the difficulties that came.”
“I don’t see any problem in making winged “Brahmos” missiles in the next 15 years,” he said.
The “Brahmos” missiles are winged hypersonic missiles produced by the joint Russian-Indian Brahmos Aerospace Corporation. The first test of these missiles took place in 2001. Different versions of these missiles entered active service with the Russian and Indian land, air and naval forces. The name “Brahmos” comes from a combination of the Indian names for the Brahmaputra River and the Russian Moscow River.
It is noteworthy that the first contract for the export of missiles was signed in the Philippines in January of this year, worth 375 million dollars, according to which the Philippines will receive three “Brahmos” missiles in the next three year.
