diary letter Former President Donald Trump’s social media app Truth Social reportedly increased its downloads by 550 percent in the week following the FBI raid on his Mar-a-Lago residence earlier this month. Data AI reports that the Truth Social platform has been downloaded nearly 3 million times since its launch.
The app topped the Apple App Store charts in April after some technical issues with the platform were resolved. However, despite a significant increase in downloads, the app lags behind social networks like Twitter and Facebook.
On Truth Social, President Trump has 3.9 million followers, which is a far cry from the 80 million followers he once had on Twitter. Truth Social reached nearly 2 million downloads in the first two weeks after its launch on February 21, 2022, but quickly slowed down the app download speed due to technical issues, including long wait times to access the site. At the end of April, the number of downloads increased when users on the application access waiting list were allowed to join the platform.
After being banned from most major social media, President Trump now only posts on Truth Social. According to Breitbart News, he began posting heavily on the platform in late April:
Trump’s post, or “Truth,” was accompanied by a photo of him typing on his phone in Mar-a-Lago.
This is her second post after her first post on Truth Social two months ago: “Get ready! Your beloved president will see you!”
Trump supporters and critics wondered when Trump would make the next post on Truth Social, created by his own Trump Media and Technology Group.
