The end of the holidays does not always catch vacationers in a good mood. Picking up the junk is not only always a demanding operation, it is also delicate, for those who have a towable boat, to take the boat out of the water and place it on top of the trailer. And even this is an operation that can be carried out in a short time, ideally on a cement, asphalt or rough stone ramp, which does not pose major traction problems and forces 4×4 vehicles with special tires to carry out the maneuver safely. .
This driver decided to take the boat out of the water in Santa Sola, a tourist destination on the Costa Blanca, south of Valencia. And here he incurred the first offense, when the boat approaches a beach without an access channel for boats, which is illegal. As if this first infraction (by the local maritime police) was not enough, the driver decided to bring the trailer to the waterline, continuing his progress in the sea until it was time to place the trailer under the hull. And it was here that he deserved the recidivism (now in charge of the authorities that monitor the beaches), since it is not allowed to drive vehicles of this type on public access beaches, as was the case on that one.
As I was clearly on a run of bad luck, the option of taking a saloon of generous dimensions, that is to say with some weight, equipped with a single axle (the rear) and with road tires, with no traction on sand, was revealed. disastrous . While going downhill, the Mercedes E-Class made it to the water, but getting out of it, let alone pulling the trailer, was mission impossible. Unless the driver was behind the wheel of a branded SUV instead of a sedan.
To worsen an already very delicate situation from a legal point of view, the Santa Pola police appeared in the middle of the maneuver. And the agents not only took the opportunity to take a photo of the car still with the trailer attached, but without the boat, with the water already entering under the doors, since they were kind enough to publish it on social networks. The goal, it seemed, was to annoy that driver a little more and teach everyone else a lesson.
The odyssey ended with a €751 fine, which we assume is related to the first two crimes. All that remains is to pay for a tractor or police trailer to get the car and trailer out of there, and then, once home, repair the damage caused by the salt water that entered the vehicle. Cheap will not stay and possibly the ship will still be in the water…
