Immediate warning from “Android” on returning a malicious error.. Delete these apps immediately!

The SharkBot malware is back on the Google Play Store and can give hackers full access to your bank account.

Since the apps in question are only affected by SharkBot after they are downloaded to the device, cybercriminals have used a sneaky tactic to circumvent Google’s strong security.

Once installed, this bug can withdraw funds from bank accounts and cover fake login pages when it detects a user trying to access online services , which allows hackers to steal usernames and passwords. SharkBot last appeared in March, and now two apps are using it again to attack Android phones.

The Fox-IT team discovered that apps called Mister Phone Cleaner and Kylhavy Mobile Security were both infected with malware.

Google has banned these apps, but anyone who has downloaded them should act quickly if they don’t want to become the next victim of cybercrime.

Speaking about the attack, Fox-IT’s Alberto Segura said: “This new version of the victim aims to install malware as a fake antivirus update to protect against threats. We found two SharkbotDopper apps, 10 active in the Google Play Store. Each , 50,000 Downloads. On August 22, 2022, the Fox-IT threat intelligence team found a new model of Sharkbot with version 2.25.”

And if you think you’ve downloaded this app, don’t forget to delete it without delay and check the permissions you may have given.

It’s also helpful to check your bank account for any unusual transactions.
