Seven districts of continental Portugal are under yellow alert this Thursday due to the forecast of sometimes intense rains and occasionally accompanied by thunderstorms and gusts, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA).
According to the IPMA, the districts of Viana do Castelo, Porto, Braga, Aveiro, Vila Real, Viseu and Coimbra they are under yellow notice until 9:00 am this Thursday.
The yellow notice is issued by the IPMA whenever there is a risk situation for certain activities depending on the weather situation.
The IPMA forecasts for this Thursday on the continent periods of rain or showers, which can sometimes be strong and accompanied by thunderstorms in the North and Center regionsdecreasing in intensity from the afternoon.
The forecast also points to prevailing light to moderate wind from the west quadrant Y small increase in maximum temperature in the North region and in the interior of the Center and South.
The minimum temperatures will range between 13 degrees Celsius (in Guarda) and the 18 (in Lisbon and Aveiro) and the highest among 18 (in Guarda) and the 26 (in Braga).
