The head of mobility services at German electronics giant Robert Bosch GmbH has warned electric vehicle manufacturers about reliance on battery cells and possible future shortages.
Bloomberg reports that Bosch’s head of mobility, Markus Hein, has warned electric car manufacturers to over-reliance on a single fuel source – battery cells – as the energy crisis worsens in Europe.
Hein, who also sits on the auto parts giant’s board of directors, told The Daily Telegraph on Monday. Stuttgarter Zeitung: “We are now seeing the consequences of gas shortages for Germany and Europe, because we have prepared very few alternatives. In the automotive industry, we should take this opportunity to ask ourselves what we can do if batteries get tough.

In this case, “Absolutely everyone would like to see an alternative to battery power. But it will only exist if we prepare it in advance.” Alternatives to consider include fuel cells, which use hydrogen and oxygen to power electric motors, Hein said. He also added that the infrastructure developed for long-haul trucks is well-suited as “a basis for the supply of light vehicles.”
Batteries are always a big expense for EV drivers as they can be very expensive to replace and repair.
Breitbart News recently reported on a Canadian Tesla owner who was locked out of his car unless he paid $26,000 for a new battery.
“I will never buy another Tesla,” he said. “That’s the long road I call staying away from Tesla (blasphemy). These are ruthless cars, ruthless production, and worse, this company is 10 years old.
In another video, Celaya says she’s selling the car and is going to buy one out of the driveway. The visible receiver was photographed after detaching the vehicle from the front bumper and charging it.
“This will be the end of my Tesla journey. out of my life. Keep it away from you,” Celaya said.
