YouTube, owned by Google, has removed a video of Republican politician and activist Laura Loomer speaking out on the issue of vote fraud, which she said violated its disinformation policy.
Loomer was the Republican candidate for Florida’s 21st district in the 2020 election, losing to Democratic incumbent Lois Frankel. Most recently, he ran in the Republican primaries in Florida’s 11th district.
His speech, now censored on YouTube, covered a wide range of topics, including election fraud and attacks on the Republican Party establishment. Loomer also discussed the need for a moratorium on immigration to the United States.
“Disinformation” is a common excuse used by tech companies that suppress political views, as well as left-wing media, academia and activist organizations that support censorship. Major tech companies have often ignored concerns about the effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines and the benefits of lockdown policies, along with concerns about US election fraud.
In a post by Loomer, YouTube said, “Your content has been reviewed by our team and unfortunately we believe this violates our disinformation policy.” The Google-owned platform has not determined which part of the conversation violates the policy.

The video is still available on Rumble, a video streaming platform that has become a more popular alternative to YouTube, breaking away from its Google-owned competitor with its policy of greater tolerance for controversial political views. .
Loomer has been banned by most major tech platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Clubhouse, PayPal, Venmo, GoFundMe, and Stripe, as well as ridesharing services Uber and Lyft.
Loomer has campaigned vocally against Big Tech censorship, sued tech companies, chained herself to Twitter headquarters to protest her ban on the platform, and last year opposed former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey about conference censorship.
