Similar to what had already happened with Volkswagen in 2019, now it’s up to Audi to evolve its traditional four-ring emblem, from a three-dimensional format with chrome to a two-dimensional one with a more modern look. According to the builder, this facilitates standardization of the presence of the logothus remaining identical, regardless of whether it is on the grill of one of the house models, on promotional posters or on the wall of dealerships.

The idea of ​​moving towards a new logo came up in 2016, but only moved forward four years later. The emblem, conceived by the designer André Georgi, results in a more modern image, allowing other potentialities such as backlighting, which can be used on electric models, however, the chrome wrap disappears on the normal versions, or in matt black on the sportier models.

“Our philosophy is that every detail should have a purpose and we want our quality to be reflected through the design,” Georgi explained. The new badge will debut on the new Audi Q8 e-tron.

In addition to the aforementioned Volkswagen, the change that Audi is now carrying out puts this German manufacturer in tune with brands such as BMW, Peugeot, Skoda, Nissan, Kia, Opel, Dacia, Toyota and Renault.
