Eleven districts of continental Portugal are under a yellow warning this Friday due to the forecast of storms accompanied by occasionally heavy showers, with occasional hail, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA).
The districts of Bragança, Viseu, Évora, Porto, Guarda, Vila Real, Viana do Castelo, Beja, Castelo Branco, Portalegre and Braga are under yellow alert from 00:00 to 21:00 on Friday. The IPMA watch is for “scattered thunderstorms, accompanied by showers, sometimes intense and that can be hail and gusts of strong wind.
The districts of Castelo Branco, Guarda and Viseu are still under yellow warning due to the forecast of “occasional showers, which may be hail”, a warning valid from 00:00 to 21:00 this Friday.
The yellow notice is issued by the IPMA whenever there is a risk situation for certain activities depending on the weather situation.
