Neuralink designs devices to be implanted in the brain to communicate with computers directly through thought.
The initial goal is to help people who are paralyzed or suffer from neurological diseases.
The ‘start-up’ intends to make these implants safe and reliable enough to be used and “equip” brains with computing capacity.
For Elon Musk, these ‘chips’ should allow humanity to achieve a “symbiosis with artificial intelligence (AI)”, according to a speech at the company’s annual conference in 2022.
The billionaire said he feared that AI systems can outpace humans and take control.
