All mainland districts under yellow alert on Saturday due to showers and thunderstorms

The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) placed this Friday 12 districts of mainland Portugal under yellow warning due to the forecast of rain and electrical storms, adding to the other six on Saturday.

The districts of Bragança, Viseu, Évora, Porto, Guarda, Vila Real, Viana do Castelo, Beja, Castelo Branco, Coimbra, Portalegre and Braga will be on yellow notice between 12 noon and 9 p.m. this Friday and between 12 noon and 9 p.m. Saturday due to the forecast of showers, sometimes intense, accompanied by storms, hail and strong gusts of wind.

the IPMA Extended yellow alert for rain and thunderstorms between 12 noon and 9 pm on Saturday for the districts of Faro, Setúbal, Santarém, Leiria Aveiro and Lisbon.

The yellow notice is issued by the IPMA whenever there is a risk situation for certain activities depending on the weather situation.
