Brazilian government celebrates reduction of deforestation in the Amazon

This Wednesday, the Brazilian government celebrated the reduction in deforestation in the Amazon and stated that the good results mean that the “complicity of government officials with criminals” has ended.

According to the Brazilian minister, the results presented this Wednesday are the effect of the measures taken by Lula da Silva’s government to preserve the Amazon, in a “combination of instruments, inspection actions,” among other measures.

During the presentation of the report, Marina Silva highlighted that, if there is adequate planning, the devastation of the largest tropical forest on the planet can be combated.
