The Slovenian United Arab Emirates won the 15th stage of the Tour of Italy by bicycle, the fourth of this edition, and stood out in the lead, leaving the British Geraint Thomas (INEOS) almost seven minutes behind.
The winner of the Tour de France in 2020 and 2021 won the 222 kilometers of the ‘queen’ stage of the race, between Manerba del Garda and the Mottolino ski resort, in Livigno, in 06:11.41 hours, 29 seconds less than the Colombian. Nairo Quintana (Movistar), winner of the Tour in 2014, second.
Pogacar, who leads the general classification since the second stage, continues with the pink jersey, now with 06.41 minutes over the British Geraint Thomas (INEOS) and 06.56 over the Colombian Daniel Martínez (BORA-hansgrohe), who this Sunday gave up 02.50. against the Slovenian’s solo sprint 14 kilometers from the finish line.
The peloton of the ‘corsa rosa’ will enjoy this Monday the second day of rest of the 107th edition, returning to the road on Tuesday, with the 16th stage, between Livigno and Monte Pana, in Santa Cristina Val Gardena, on a route of 206 kilometers and three counts for the mountain prize, one for special category, one for first and one for seconds, coinciding with the finish line.
