The search for the 16-year-old boy who disappeared on Friday afternoon on Salgueiros beach, in Vila Nova de Gaia, was interrupted this Monday at 8:14 p.m., at dusk, by the commander of the Douro captaincy.
On the third day of searches, the search was carried out on land, in the area that goes from Aguda, in Vila Nova de Gaia, to the mouth of the Douro River, a situation that should continue until Wednesday, if in the meantime the body was not found in the coast, revealed Rui Lampreia.
The young man disappeared at sea on Friday afternoon, trapped by a wave when he was trying to cool off in the sea, according to the maritime authority, noting that the boy did not know how to swim.
“We have all firefighters on alert in case the body reaches the shore in the coming days,” added Rui Lampreia, who confirmed that the search will resume on Tuesday morning.
