Bad weather in the Azores caused nine incidents this Tuesday morning on the islands of São Miguel, Pico and Terceira, including six floods in Ponta Delgada, according to the Regional Civil Protection and Fire Service of the Azores (SRPCBA).
A source from the SRPCBA told the Lusa agency that seven incidents were recorded on the island of São Miguel, in addition to the six road floods in Ponta Delgada and the collapse of a structure in Ribeira Grande.
In Lajes do Pico (Pico Island) a tree fell and in Angra do Heroísmo (Terceira Island) bad weather caused damage to an electricity pole.
“All incidents have been resolved,” according to the SRPCBA.
The nine islands of the Azores were under a yellow warning at dawn, the least serious on a scale of three, due to forecasts of wind and “sometimes heavy rainfall, which could be accompanied by storms,” according to the Portuguese Sea Institute. and the Sea. Atmosphere.
The yellow warning is issued whenever there is a risk situation for certain activities depending on the weather situation.
