National road 125, in the Algarve, was closed to traffic in the Luz de Tavira area this Saturday morning, due to flooding caused by rains during the night and early Saturday morning, according to Civil Protection. The Algarve railway line remains closed in the Fuzeta area (Olhão) due to the derailment of a train, caused by stones on the track, washed away by the rain.
Radio Observador, source of the Olhão firefighters, states that the accident on the Algarve railway line did not cause any injuries. “The road was flooded and there was a derailment,” but there were no reports of injuries.
Between 00:00 and 08:00, “bad weather conditions” were responsible for 45 events in the Alentejo regions and, mainly, in the Algarve, a source from the National Civil Protection Authority (ANPC) informed Lusa. ).

The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) once again placed the districts of Faro and Beja under yellow warning this Saturday due to the forecast of showers, occasionally intense and that could be accompanied by storms and hail, an alert that is in force until 13 :00 hours.
